Hi'ya JeepJock!

Welcome to our family! YOU will love that LED light for so many reasons. Last night we went, and we threw 3 of the lights. The shrimp were running deep [jumbo and larges], and if they hit our light field they made our bucket!

If ever you have any questions on anything or how to deploy the LED, ask away. You will see a loop in the orange cord. We hang our depth line/weight off that loop. When I get back to Deltona [I stay in New Smyrna when I am being irresponsible on the water], I will show you my LED light setup.

For now, you can go into the equipment forum, and see how I rigged my 18 to 24 inch fluorescents. I setup my LED's the same.

May ALL your pulls be full!

Hi Flatsfishn I actually have 2 brand new 18" green flouresents that I would be willing to part with if this is what you are lookingfor RIGHT NOW. They are the same lights the Captain uses. If you are interested just let me know. $75. each. These flouresents are also battery friendly. The flouresents are great but the LED enabled me to see deeper. Now the Captain had lasik surgery done in 2005 and she sees like a Hawk, lol!!!!

glad i found this site. Very informative and up to date posts. I look forward to adding to the community and maybe even running into others members on the water. I have been using to old 12v light bulbs and can only imagine the battery and replacement bulb savings w LED's. Is there any type of transducer or inverter used in that prototype setup?
The LED light posted here is my new technology light after years of periodically searching the available technology for bright enough LED's to make this practical. And it's a winner by my standards and others that have seen this light and the light pattern this class of light generates.

To answer your question tho, this light uses no inverters or transducers to operate. Simply clip the battery clips to the battery terminals and use the light. No damage to the light if you mix up the battery connection, as it is easy to do at night. Just swap...

Nice to meet you FlatsFishn! Welcome to your community

I sent a message off to NiteOwl, "Pete Wehner", a retired engineer to answer your questions . I am not even gonna begin to try to answer your questions. I am the one however, that has the light while he is way on vacation.

My current equipment is heavily talked about in the equipment forum here, down towards bottom of main menu. I am currently using 12volt fluorescents, 18 inch bulbs. Having said that, I am crossing over to LED. I had my fluorescent side by side with the LED and it was like comparing a Blu Ray DVD to a VCR tape.

Now, when you go out, submit your largest shrimp & read the rules for submission.! My tourneys are FREE, and I have sponsor donated prizes.

The goal of this site is to act as an ambassador in the sport to bridge the mystery, get folks out shrimping, and increase the size of your pulls <img...
