I was thinking about one of the airboat/graphite coating paints like was suggested. this is also a Sea Nymph.  I am a long way from the paint phase currently replacing the wooden transmom board with aluminum.  If the motor checks out I am concidering building a single seat airboat type rigging to mount in the center (still using the Outboard) If the motor doesnt check out it will be a electric trolling motor and used just in small lakes.

no I am not on the airboat forum. I do have a alumitech boat. I made the switch to a 383 GM a couple of years ago, have been real pleased. Alumitech have treated me very well over the years so when I decided to go car motor I let them tell me what I needed.  But you cant beat the sound of an aircraft engine, my very first airboat had a strong 520 contental on it, 

I broke out the tig and spent a good deal of time with the old dirty crudy aluminum.  Then switched to the Alumimum repair sticks for the more miner blemishes.  Not too excited with the repair sticks.  Propane plumers tourch too cool, butain too cool, cutting tourch with a wide tip turned way down was what I had to use.  everyting looked good untill I did the water test. I found a couple of Pin holes that had opened up that was Invisable to the eye.  Scuffed up the area and applied J & B weld to the areas and finished off with some 5200 on the inside just for extra measure. 

Someone had butchered out the center seat of the john boat, and built a bass tracker version using treated lumber.  Everywhere the treated lumber touched alumimum, there was croision.  Rebuilt the transom with alumimum rectangle alumimum tubing and sandwitched with diamond plate on the outside and 125 on the inside, putting in the aluminum cross members and sub floor so you don't trip over the ribs of the boat.

As bad as the boat was,  and Not that I need a another boat It is good therapy for me, (relaxing).  (Just got back from the keys last night, very very very stressful.)
