You can give a good report and DO NOT have to give exact details, if that bothers you. I personally give exact details, and it has not compromised my being able to find shrimp or get a location. I go to so many different locations. Giving useful info helps those that commute. Here is a good guide line to to get important information to others. People LOVE pictures whether fishing or shrimping, take a picture of your bucket of shrimp [it motivates and excites people], and your largest shrimp on a ruler. If you do not understand how to upload pictures yet, go down the left side bar of site under school bus icon and read the TINYPIC tutorial, 3 steps and your done! EASIEST way to upload. Don't only post when you have GREAT nights, get into the habit of posting no matter how the night goes. I get skunked too, and I still post a report. Just posting some helpful guidelines to "guide', what people elect to say is totally up to them. Locations can be glanced over, but it is nice to say a little more than a few general sentences. . This way, we show some food for thought about other data like water temp, water clarity, sizes, wind factor etcthat may have never occurred to a member to report about. I admire anyone that limits solo, although limiting with more than one dipper is a commendable accomplishment, too. Titusville

Folks do not realize they have more intel than they thought if they look at the guideline. I am one of those shrimpers where I do not care about the location they were caught in...I care more about the other details...I will find my own location. I care about water clarity, wind, water temp, how crowded was the river, when did the run begin...when did it end, when did you see a surge [usually like last hour before tide ends]. Some times they take 2 hours to run, the big ones come out for 1.5 hours and then they get smaller...these types of observations are wonderful if folks talk about the shrimp behavior. Were they swimming [little legs just paddling, or being lazy drifting in current]...were they meandering or coming at ya like missile... There are so many things folks can talk about BESIDES location...if they just say general area, that is great....even if they just say, "South of the RB Ramp", or South of CM 4.....that could mean 2 miles away from where you really were....that's fine.... Sometimes 2 sentence reports create more questions.... Folks, on the side bar of the site under the school bus icon, there is "how to upload pics", if you cannot upload we will upload for you until you figure it out, email them to me at leenoga@cfl.rr.com. Have fun with the report, do not look at it as a chore. The reports are best written before you go to bed.....even if you just start the report with Oak Hill - between CM 71-73 --2 gallons, more to come when I wake up.... That is great! If you wait to long to share your intel, your intel is a missed opportunity for another member who needed to have the knowledge earlier to plan. HD In a perfect world 63-67 over all speaking. But .... Last Feb folks were squealing "5 gallons" all over the place. The water temp was 61.5 degrees. And.......... Last March waters fell back to 56.1 and sizes went med to large [avg was 1 -3 gallons] but by mid March water wrmed up to 65.5 and the jumbo's were swarming. Posts: 599 01/05/11 12:54 AM SPONSOR Resident Engineer LED GREENIE	Some years ago the University of Miami Marine Department conducted an experiment where the water in a circulating tank was fed by multipe water inlets of various temperature gradients. The results of this experiment showed a distinct preference for the 70 deg temp strata, but this had stragglers at lower and higher temps as well. But during the winter months, the water on top tends to warm up faster than the water on the bottom. The exception is when there are significant prolonged cold fronts and high winds, which will reult in rapid water cooling as air temperatures plunge and the higher winds cause rapid evaporation, which suck heat energy from the top. Then you can get a very large and sudden tmperature inversion taking placewith the bottom water being warmer and rising as the top of cooler water falls to the bottom. So the shrimp and fish come closer to the surface as the inversion takes place. The sudden shift of water results in lower top water oxogen levels and sudden fish kills occu. It's all about the location of the warmer water in the winter season, as to where in the water column thy are at. Captain's Mate Posts: 2214 01/28/11 05:48 AM Elite $300+ Member Website Donations - 7 Limits 2011	Last year in January I went shrimping 2 times. One night during full moon and one night during New moon. Both nights the water temp was in the low 50's. Outside temps were in the middle 60's. Winds on both nights were less then 5 mph. Water clarity was 5 ft with very few trash floating. The first night we caught 95 shrimp but 75 were 6" to 7 3/4". The second night we caught 198 shrimp and again 3/4 of them were between 6" and 7 3/4". The second night was the most jumbo shrimp I have caught at one time. We had around 30 of these critters that large. I know they say that the shrimp bury in the mud when temps get lower then 55 degrees. But who can figuire what will happen on any given night. cudac30
