Ed Shumaker is the iconic legendary cast net maker who has been making nets for 30 years. These nets are referred to as the "Shumaker" nets and are in high demand by both the commercial bait and shrimpers as well as recreational summer shrimpers.

These hand tied nets are sold at the Fishing Shack bait store A1A near Sunglow Pier at $18 foot.  A 10 ft Shumaker net with webbing sells for $250 at the bait store. Our website discount direct from Ed will make this same net $180. You save $70, please give Ed your screen name.

Our members can order this net for $15 foot directly from Ed himself, there will be NO discount if this net is bought at the Fishing Shack. The webbing is an additional $30 dollars. The webbing [optional] is a preferred accessory to keep the net open longer to catch more shrimp.   Ed will dye your net any color you like. The popular color for the commercial folks for 2011 is purple.

REPORT LOTTERY CONTEST:

For every cast net shrimping report you submit you will be awarded 1 chip in a Shumaker cast net lottery drawing. If you add a picture of your shrimp caught in your report, you will be awarded an additional chip in the drawing. Tournament started June 1st, 2011 and drawing for the prize will be announced later in season. The more chips you earn, the better your chances of winning.

ALL lottery tourneys on this site are FREE. You have to submit your report within 72 hours of having gone out shrimping. We will be checking all pictures for digital signatures to ensure they were photographed within 24 hours of the date you went out. We reserve the right to NOT enter a report/and pics into the lottery.
