There are not many underwriters for this kind of insurance. I use 'Charter Lakes'. If you
sign up with the FGA (Florida Guides Association), the discount you get from
Charter lakes more than pays for the yearly guides dues. I have a million dollars
liability, coverage for my 35' offshore boat, gear, etc. It includes towing and salvage
as well as other things you would expect with a towing service also. I pay a little
over $2k a year, but its for a lot of coverage also.

There are a lot of requirements for running charters. Insurance is really not required, but
it would be foolish not to have it.

Fishing Charters:
1)USCG License w/TWIC
2)Drug testing program
3)current first aid cert.
4)State fishing "Captains" or "Boat" fishng license
5)USCG - UPV equipped boat (USCG AUX offers free inspections at your location
    to ensure compliance with charter boat safety gear)
6)Insurance very important.
7)Permits for chartering in certain bodies of water (National Wildlife Refuge, etc)
8)If you ever intend to venture past 3 miles offshore, Federal Permits are required,
    and there are more than one
9)local and state business licenses as required
