Sea Worthy Posts: 84 11/12/11 02:16 PM - 1 Limits 2011	Tags : None The other day when we were coming into the dock, and we let off on the throttle the boat didn't really want to idle in...it would shift okay into neutral, but we had to come in faster than normal. Got home, put the muffs on, and it seems to idle high and surge. Any ideas where to start looking? We've got a 30 hp nissan 2 stroke.

Sea Worthy Posts: 84 11/14/11 01:10 PM - 1 Limits 2011	Spark plugs are fairly new, going to go ahead and replace them since the season is starting up...ordered a new fuel filter too, and will see if that helps...thanks for the help :o)

Captain's Mate Posts: 688 11/17/11 11:00 PM - 6 Limits 2011	There are allot of bad batches of fuel around or you may have air in the line or vent may be closed as well make sure your primer bulb pumps firm with no more than 5-6 squeezes. If it takes more or becomes soft or collapses that may be symptoms of one of the above described issues that are also very common. If you are still using ethanol it could be related with the fluctuating temperatures we have had lately. Ethanol does not flow as freely as pure Gas. I have seen engines that would no longer run or run as well. The switch to pure Gas sometimes fixes the problem. Jets in carb's are very tiny, it doesn't take much to clog them. Synthetic two stroke Oil is also a better match for the e-10 as opposed to the dyno oil. Good luck.
