Posts: 200 03/31/10 07:37 PM - 3 Limits 2012 - 7 Limits 2011	I will be shrimping RB Friday night If you are going shrimping we could meet.I cant wait to try the LED I am in need of all new lights and If thay work like everyone says I will need more.I am heading to the Keys in May and would like to try it on the reefs at night.?? how deep can the lights go.?? can I enter Aprils contest .

If you buy more lights NiteOwl can make you 100 ft cord light...it will be extra cost of course for the longer cord.....I see no reason why you cannot..the swords will chase these lights. Your swordfishing? This is what is so nice having NiteOwl tied to a chair and tucked away in my closet....we get dibs on how we want our lights built. Your a member, and knowing this awesome gent', I am sure he will hook you up! I am not going out this week...I live 50 miles one way to ramp. Don't really know how deep is its limit. The housing itself is made from 400 PSI internal pressure PVC piping, so it is very rugged.. 100 feet down in the water column exerts about 45 PSI external pressure differential compared to the inside of the pipe. The cable seal itself is sealed with 3M5200 marine sealant. It's a time tested sealing method that works very well. Don't be fooled by the cable seal tape wrap I use. It is a cosmetic addition to hide the otherwise not so pretty sealant overflow as the fittings are tightened. It hides the the sealant from view, while at the same time protecting the cable against bending stress at that point. It's a self fusing rubber compound splicing tape. It will not unravel even years of light usage. I've never fished for big game with lights, but my concern would be having someone do a quick light cord retrieve to prevent fish and cord line entanglements. I would likely use a break away weight - let the weight sink, while the light buoyancy helps bring the light up faster. But the light's small size and bouyancy won't be enoght to pop it to the surface. Tho not tested for this condition, my judgment is it should be OK to 100 feet down. I could run a bead of 3M5200 seal around the clear pipe and couplings as a backup seal for the PVC solvent welded pipe fittings.
