Sea Worthy Posts: 156 01/19/12 01:00 PM	Tags : None So went thru the insurance BS. Finally sent me to a bone specialist. Xrays and MRI was done and Doc read the results. Had my appointment with the Doc this morning. MRI said I had a small sectuion of my leg bone with cancer. They dont know what kind of cancer. But its very aggressive. The bones do not get cancer. It's comming from somewhere else. So now I got to go thru a battery of test to find it. I'm still going shrimping when they start running.

Greenhorn Posts: 2 01/27/12 05:29 PM	I have a form of "bone cancer" called multiple myeloma, it attacks the inside of the bone. Simple explanation is antibodies inside the bone marrow are multiplying, normally they kill the bad stuff and go away, but in this case they just keep multiplying. Mine was found through blood tests, IGG is the bad guy. This is very treatable. I would recommend asking every question you can think of of the doctors and have them explain what exactly is the issue and what are recommended solutions. Oh yea, get a copy of every test MRI, CAT scan (usually on a dvd/cd) and get a copy of every report for your own records, you may be going to different doctors, etc. I wish you well and a speedy recovery...

Posts: 533 02/06/12 05:34 PM	Hi Alabama, Please let us know your situation. If the bone is weak it can be pinned by an orthopedic surgeon even while undergoing treatment. Don't let them get you in a wheel chair. It is a lose losing situation if you are off your feet for any length of time. Best regards, Frankk
