Sea Worthy Posts: 13 01/30/12 02:18 PM	dont get the waterproof coating it takes away from the light produced, you need to make the area waterproof 300 led 50/50/smd is the correct bulb just take care to fully seal your container cant have to many layers of quality silicone from your watertight wire conector to the pipe inside your clear PVC ,barnet industrial plastics in orlando will sell you clear pvc pipe about 7 bucks a foot in 10 ft. sections good luck building,also you will need to solder the joints where you cut the lights they can be cut every 3 diodes,and yes e-bay sells the lights I get em for 27 bucks a reel free shipping but dont be in a rush slow boat from china heres the link http://www.ebay.com/itm/150693285715?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Last Edited By: sprink821 01/30/12 06:46 PM. Sea Worthy Posts: 13 01/30/12 05:18 PM	thats cool if you like Ive been making my own for awhile used to buy just led bulbs and solder resistors to each one the strips save a ton of time, just want whoever is wanting to build them to seal the lights the best that they can and buy the good bulbs they dont cost much to build,I use 100 bulbs per light and still figure they cost under 40 bucks to make,the cord going in seems to be the weak spot from what Ive seen

The pier in New Smyrna is a great place for that as you can hang it and walk back to the shore and take the pic.
