Posts: 3521 02/02/12 09:39 AM - 1 Limits 2012 - 4 Limits 2011	Tags : None It wasn't a real productive night, and I don't normally count my catch but I was surprised by the number of white shrimp that I caught, out of 48 shrimp 14 of them were white shrimp and all of them were larger than the reds and browns that I caught. The white shrimp are on the right in the pic. New Smyrna Gone feeshin..... As often as I can, BUT not as much as I'd LIKE to!!!!

Sea Worthy Posts: 69 02/02/12 03:25 PM	Were you at the North or South causeway? I heard from a friend that the South Causeway pier lights are out due to construction...is this still the case? I used to night fish there alot but with no lights it's hard to get the baitfish.

South bridge, Yeah the no light situation stinks, I heard that they will be out for 5 months or until the construction is finished on the pier that runs in front of the park. Hey salty I was there about 2 1/2 to 3 hours, didn't have a good strong tide, the no rain and weird weather pattern has the tide flow all messed up, the water was really cloudy too, if the shrimp were deeper than 2 feet it was almost impossible to see them. New Smyrna Gone feeshin..... As often as I can, BUT not as much as I'd LIKE to!!!!

I saw where the parking lot (pier?) is going to be closed from the 6th? to the 17th for construction. Posts: 3521 02/05/12 08:23 AM - 1 Limits 2012 - 4 Limits 2011	The reason for the parking closure is so they can install all new wiring and lighting (LEDs) thru the entire park as well as the pier. Parts of the seawall and the pier directly in front of the park are being repaired and upgraded also, and there going to build another pier similar to the one under the S. bridge at the North end of the park by the canal. The only changes to the pier under the bridge will be the lighting, which should be a great improvement over the existing lighting, since they were burned out most of the time. I sawe a picture off the commercial boats outside the inlet and they had both white and brown shrimp with more white ones in the picture than browns when they were showing off the sizes. Ed Shumaker told me they would be running in a few weeks and they are. Thanks for the report.
